Alexander Ivanovich Pirumow born February 6, 1930 in Tbilisi, † 1995 in Moscow) was an Armenian-Russian composer and music teacher.Pirumow was a student of Dmitri Kabalewski. He has been teaching composition at the Moscow Conservatory since 1962, and as a professor since 1982. His students included Alexandre Rabinovitch, Mark Minkow, Jelena Firsowa, Jefrem Podgaiz, Alisher Latif-Zade and others.
